Gunmetal
Gunmetal is our standard finish, and is mild steel, dark anthracite in colour. Before it leaves our factory, we oil treat it to protect it. Treat it like a wok, and if any surface rusts appears, rub it down and apply any vegetable oil to protect as and when is needed. If kept under cover, should be trouble free.
Can my Gunmetal be left outside year-round?
Yes, our grills are designed to be outside all year round, with autumn and winter being our favourite times of year for wood-fire cooking. When not in use, put the cover on.
How does my Gunmetal grill weather?
Your Gunmetal Grill base is raw steel, so if left untreated it will gain a rusty patina over time. For this reason, we pre-oil your Gunmetal Grill with rapeseed oil for protection so you just need to add fire to finish the seasoning process off - just like seasoning a wok or cast-iron pan.
Long-term you have two options:
Option 1: Keep seasoning your Gunmetal grill and keep covered when not in use. The ember maker will need a quick coating of rapeseed oil after each cook due to the heat in this area, whereas the rest of the grill will just need doing when needed.
Option 2: Let it weather naturally and develop its own patina over time. The thickness of the raw steel base means it will last 10 years without any issues.
Cor-Ten
Put simply, Cor-Ten steel (also written as corten or COR-TEN®) is a type of high-strength, low-alloy structural steel renowned for its resistance to abrasion and corrosion. Originally developed by United States Steel in the 1930s, it was initially used in the shipping industry for constructing durable shipping containers.
What sets Cor-Ten steel apart is its unique weathering properties. When exposed to the elements, it forms a protective rust-like patina on its surface. This distinctive layer not only gives the material its striking, industrial appearance but also prevents further corrosion, making it incredibly durable and long-lasting.

The Asado 316 Stainless + Woodstore is the same grill hundreds of Somerset owners cook on every week, just built from the most serious material we offer. No oiling, no treatment, no painting. Big enough for big groups, small enough for just four.
The Woodstore gives the grill a solid home. Side tables for prep and plates, log storage keeping your wood dry underneath, an extra storage shelf, and 100mm wheels with brakes so you can move it where you need it and lock it in place. Delivered fully assembled. 20-year warranty included.
The 660mm × 320mm cooking surface is bigger than most large family barbecues, with the ember maker adding extra space on top. Wind the handle to raise or lower the grill in seconds, no guesswork. Keep topping up the ember maker with logs and cook for as long as you like.

Built from 316 marine grade stainless steel, the same grade used in coastal architecture and professional kitchens. The addition of molybdenum gives it exceptional resistance to salt, heat, and the elements. It will discolour with heat over time. That's normal for any steel living with live fire, and it doesn't affect performance. Just clean it occasionally and it'll outlast almost everything else in your garden.

Is UK delivery free?
Yes. Delivery is free to UK mainland, Scottish Islands, and Northern Ireland, and included in all prices shown. For Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, we add a £85 surcharge.
How long does UK delivery take?
Gunmetal Grills are usually in stock, so delivery is 2–3 working days. When on pre-order, estimated delivery times are shown on the product page. Need next-day or Saturday delivery? Get in touch and we'll arrange it.
Once dispatched, you'll get a tracking email so you can follow your grill's progress. We'll also contact you to arrange a delivery day that suits you.
How does delivery work?
Because of the size and weight (65kg+), each grill is delivered fully assembled on a standard pallet by specialist courier. The courier will unload by tail-lift to the kerbside or entrance of your property, getting as close as possible to where you need it. On gravel drives the lorry will get as close as it can.
Deliveries run Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm. Saturday deliveries available on request.
All grills with Woodstore stands have heavy-duty castor wheels, so they're easy to move into place. The standalone Asado takes two people to carry. The Grande takes four.
Access considerations
Delivery addresses need to be accessible by 7.5t lorry. A few things worth knowing:
- If your property can't be accessed by 7.5t lorry, extra shipping charges may apply. Get in touch and we'll sort it
- If you have narrow access to the rear of your house, we can deliver the grill broken down into a few sections for easy reassembly
- Larger outdoor kitchen orders may come on a dedicated van

Can you ship outside the UK?
Yes, throughout Europe via FedEx TNT on pallets. Select your country of delivery from the dropdown at the top right of the website to see VAT-free Euro pricing. Delivery cost is added at checkout.
European delivery charges:
- France, Belgium, Netherlands, Ireland: £195
- Germany, Scandinavia, Italy, Greece: £395
Just before delivery, FedEx will contact you to pay any local VAT and duties.

We don't ship direct, but we can recommend Algarve Removals, who offer an online shopping service. We'll deliver free to their UK warehouse for you.
